BURPEE BLAST!!!

Happy Monday!

If you cheated over the weekend or went to one too many get togethers, time to kick your butt back into gear! I can’t say I LOVE burpees, but they really are such a good workout!! They are a great combination of strength and cardio training.

It’s GAMEDAY, how are you going to stick to your healthy eating??

Does anyone else have a REALLY hard time sticking to their healthy eating at get togethers? I do!

Don’t stress about today, just make a plan first! Don’t go to your friend’s house without a plan thinking, oh I’ll just eat a bit… that is probably not going to work. Make a real plan! If you know there will be cookies, decide if you are going to have one, two or none. If there will be chips and dip, put your portion on your plate so you can see how much you are eating. Don’t stand at the table picking at all the food, you will never know how much you have really consumed.

My plan? I am bringing something with me that is probably more healthy than the other foods that will be there. Here’s where I got my RECIPE675486

This yummy bean dip doesn’t neccesarily need chips, you can eat it like a salad! I like to put avocado and jalepeno in there too. I omit the oil, I don’t think it changes the flavor too much.

My good friend is making her AMAZINGLY yummy chocolate chip cookies. I’ve decided to go without! I can have one small plate of food and no sugar. If I want to munch more, I can have as much of my bean dip as I want (without chips, like a salad). There’s my plan! I’m sticking to it.

How can I achieve my weight loss goals?

Things I feel are crucial to losing weight:

Water
Getting enough rest (early to bed, early to rise)
Never being full (that point where you know you ate too much.. you know 
Exercise, cardio and lifting weights are equally important
staying active
planning your meals (makes it possible for you to stay on track)
Research (always be learning how to be even healthier than you are)
Veggies!
Whole foods!
Whole grains, cut out those white/simple carbs (potatoes/white bread/cereal)
Limit sugar intake or cut it out completely
Limited Dairy and processed foods
food logging
Eat out less (much less haha)

Learn to LOVE nutritious whole foods. Food can be your friend, not the enemy!

My first 30 pounds came off with no exercise at all (maybe once a week only). Eating right is so important. Now I am having to workout and eat right. I am seeing a change in my body, I actually like the way I feel in my own skin, this has never happened to me! I’m not losing a ton on the scale but if I look at old pictures it helps to remind me how far I have come. It is a process. The days I eat healthy I am in the BEST MOOD!! Other days when I am cheating, snacking, going out to lunch… then later on in the day I am mean and upset with myself. I know what to do, it is the implementing that is the hardest part. 

Look at this list, see if there are areas where you can improve. I know I have lots.

Clean eating, because you are worth it!

The Facebook group has been a little quieter this week. After the initial weight loss in the first few weeks, the middle couple weeks can be frustrating. DON’T GIVE UP.  Perseverance is key. If you get knocked down, pick yourself up. Keep going. Being healthy is never over. You can ‘t just give up, BECAUSE YOU ARE BETTER THAN THAT.

Your challenge for tonight/ tomorrow is to spend some time researching clean eating. The term “clean eating”  can be modified to you personally.  I want you to change 3 things in your diet to be more clean. Think about what is hurting your nutrition on a daily basis. What is a food that makes you break. What 3 things are you going to change in your diet to be more clean?

I have one more challenge for those that are up for it. Research. Study. Learn. Educate yourself on how to be the healthy person you want to be. Make your own personal goal to educate yourself more. I am going to allocate more time for this in my life. Being healthy is so important to my happiness. I am a busy mom/hairstylist/wife BUT I AM GOING TO MAKE TIME, because I am lookin out for me. If I’m healthy, I’m happy. Of course then my family is happy too…

What’s for lunch?

On my rest days (from strength training), I have way less carbs but lots of protein and good fats. Here’s a sample meal from today. I put salsa on EVERYTHING instead of having to use dressings, cheese, creamy things… salsa!!!

spinach
1 roma tomato
red pepper diced
1/2 cucumber
1/2 string cheese stick diced
1 tbsp almond slices
balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp yogurt dressing
avacado

Carnitas:
Carnitas

avacado

It works for us. Just wanted to share what we are doing, but it doesn’t mean you need to do it. This is the first time in my life that I have lost weight like this!

I am in learning mode, meaning I love learning from y’all and researching anything nutrition. Thank you for your comments and encouragement! Together we are all going to accomplish much in these next 8 weeks.
